In the context of displacement / under-employment caused by resource depletion, the Federation initiated employment generation programmes, especially alternative employment programme for the coastal youth. This was initiated through the forum, named as 'Sramasakthi' (Strength of Effort). The programs include: Alternate Developments Schemes like House construction, Ferro-cement products, Artificial reefs, etc and Research projects like Micro Studies, Training programs for the women, youth, fish workers etc
